Your First Visit to Our Irvine Practice

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

New patients often remark how “homey” our office is. That’s good, because our goal is to offer state-of-the-art chiropractic care in a comfortable surrounding.

Make Yourself at Home

You’ll find plenty of convenient parking and a well-lit parking lot. You’ll be greeted by name when you enter our office and given a short tour to get you acquainted with our facilities.

If you’ve already completed your admitting paperwork, great! If not, after doing so we’ll likely show you a short 5-minute video and then you’ll meet Dr. Steven Cocks.

We Explain Everything First

The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem.

Examination

Depending on the level of examination which is determined by your condition and your doctor's professional recommendation, your examination may or may not include the following:

Level 1 involves a complete chiropractic, orthopedic and neurological examination which includes reflexes, posture, sensory perception, and spinal range of motion in relation to the area of complaint.

Level 2 involves all performed above and complete postural evaluation and its correlation to the presenting problem(s). A complete report of findings will be provided to you for your record.

Level 3 involves all discussed in Level 1 and 2 as well as sEMG which is the computerized assessment of the nerve integrity to the muscles surrounding the spine and a report with a diagram of the findings. This completes the most complex type of chiropractic examination at our clinic. A complete report of findings will be generated and offered to you for your record; future reports will be given to you at the follow up re-examinations so you may compare the improvements.

Patients appreciate that we explain everything in advance!

Dr. Cocks Asks some important questions of interest to Irvine residents - Chiropractor Irvine Dr. Cocks Asks...

What does a chiropractic adjustment do?
Chiropractic adjustments give your spine a little "nudge" at the right place, right time and the right direction so your body can use that energy to "right" itself. With a schedule of consistent chiropractic visits, a new, healthier spinal pattern emerges.
What's the difference between chiropractic and medicine?
Medical treatment focuses on the disease or the symptom. Chiropractic focuses on the person with the disease or the symptom. Medical treatment usually involves changing blood chemistry. Chiropractic involves restoring nervous system integrity. Medical doctors prescribe medicine. Chiropractors adjust the spine—a common source of nervous system interference.
